SUSTAIN CHM MINISTRIES

Planned gifts ensure that the Congregation of the Humility of Mary will continue to respond to the needs of God’s people in the 21st century. From bequests to charitable trusts to gifts of appreciated assets, your planned gift ensures that the sisters’ dedication and service to others will continue beyond the present and that retired and elderly sisters are well cared for.

In turn, the benefits for donors are many:

  • Satisfaction of providing ongoing support for the Sisters of Humility;
  • Gifting today without spending current income or retirementresources;
  • Realizing estate tax and income tax advantages while providing for heirs.

Plus, membership in the Magnificat Society is accorded to each friend who makes a planned gift.

Planned gifts can take many forms and there are many options and opportunities. We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor, accountant or attorney regarding structuring your charitable giving in a way that best meets your philanthropic and financial goals.

MAGNIFICAT SOCIETY: HONORING VISIONARY DONORS

Chartered in 1999 by the Sisters of Humility, the Magnificat Society was established to identify and honor, in their lifetime, donors whose commitment, vision, and concern for the future of the Congregation of the Humility of Mary is demonstrated by their planned giving support.

Responding to the needs of the Church in the modern world, the Sisters of Humility serve the poor in ministries that include education, pastoral care, social work, prayer, healthcare, housing and social services across the United States and Mexico. Planned gifts ensure that these vital ministries will continue.

Membership in the Magnificat Society is accorded to each friend who makes a will provision/planned gift for the Congregation of the Humility of Mary as part of his or her estate planning. In addition to the tax benefits of planned giving listed above, you will also:

  • Become a partner in ministry with the Sisters of Humility
  • Be remembered daily in the prayers of the Sisters of Humility and during masses in Magnificat Chapel at Humility of Mary Center
  • Receive a glass etching of the Magnificat fresco from Ottumwa Heights Chapel, as tangible appreciation of your generous support
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior who has looked with favor on this lowly servant . . . the Almighty has done great things for me, and Holy is God’s name. - Luke I : 46-49
