Do I have to be Catholic to attend a retreat at The Prairie Retreat? No. We welcome seekers from every path. While we are a Catholic retreat facility, we’ve hosted retreats with people from all faith traditions and backgrounds, and do our best to make everyone feel welcome.

What are your Covid policies? As a common courtesy to each other, and in an attempt to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe, we ask that all of our guests adhere to life’s Golden Rule – treat others the way you want to be treated yourself. This simple gesture is a common thread that crosses the boundaries of all religions and faiths. While at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat, please help us navigate Covid-19 by implementing God’s Golden Rule. We suggest you to go to https://www.cdc.gov/ to check on the latest CDC guidelines which we encourage you to follow.

Are meals available for personal retreats? No. Our Hermitage offers a refrigerator, microwave, crockpot and toaster. Individual retreatants will need to bring their own food.

Where can I find a calendar of events? Please click here.

Are pets allowed? No. We are a pet-free facility. Trained service dogs in ADA-specified service are allowed. Please specify this on your registration or application form so we have maximum time to notify other retreatants, in case any have dog issues or allergies. The Prairie Retreat does not allow animals providing emotional support, comfort or therapy, and cannot accommodate service horses.

May I light candles or incense? Due to fire regulations, we do not allow you to light candles or burn incense inside any of the buildings at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat. We do, however, offer a firepit for outside campfires.

How early may I arrive? We ask that retreatants try to arrive as close to the scheduled time of their retreat as possible.

What is the cancellation policy? When a sponsored retreat is cancelled by The Prairie Retreat, refunds are given to all who have registered. When a retreatant cancels, there are no refunds.

May I stay extra days, before or after my group retreat? If our calendar and schedule allows it, these accommodations may be made for an additional fee.
