OLPR staff answers your questions.  We look forward to seeing you!

Do I have to be Catholic to attend a retreat at The Prairie Retreat? No. We welcome seekers from every path. While we are a Catholic retreat facility, we’ve hosted retreats with people from all faith traditions and backgrounds, and do our best to make everyone feel welcome.

What are your Covid policies? As a common courtesy to each other, and in an attempt to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe, we ask that all of our guests adhere to life’s Golden Rule – treat others the way you want to be treated yourself. This simple gesture is a common thread that crosses the boundaries of all religions and faiths. While at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat, please help us navigate Covid-19 by implementing God’s Golden Rule. We suggest you to go to https://www.cdc.gov/ to check on the latest CDC guidelines which we encourage you to follow.

Will I have my own bedroom and bathroom? We offer individual bedrooms. Every two bedrooms share a bathroom.

Does your facility offer internet access? Yes. We offer free wireless internet access.

May I book your facility for a personal retreat? Absolutely! We invite you to stay in our efficiency apartment-sized Hermitage. Individual guests must be at least 18 years old. For reservations, please click here.

I have food allergies; can I still eat there? We want you to know that all meals are prepared in the same kitchen, including use of peanuts and flour. The Prairie Retreat does not have an exclusively gluten free or kosher kitchen. Due to our kitchen’s capacity, we have limited possibility of removing allergens from our menu to accommodate individual retreatants. If you have a serious food allergy, please keep this in mind. However, if you have a medical allergy, please make our kitchen aware for any possible accommodations we might be able to make. You might also consider bringing supplemental food on your own; a refrigerator is available for use by guests. You are welcome to contact us if you have specific questions or wish to request a possible accommodation.
