River City Tire Accepts the Challenge to End Hunger

River City Tire, located in Davenport, IA, recently conducted a fundraiser for Congregation of the Humility of Mary in conjunction with the Challenge to End Hunger, a collaborative effort to end food insecurity. CHM joined with other congregations around the country to serve persons in need and bring much needed awareness to the current increase in food insecurity and underlying causes such as the pandemic, poverty, unemployment and inconsistent access to healthy food.

River City Tire boosted this effort by creating a GoFundMe campaign and sharing it on Facebook. The business committed to matching donations up to $500. On March 16, it was announced that they had reached their goal and would be donating $1,000 to CHM for the Challenge to End Hunger. River City Tire owner Jackie Staron thanked their customers and employees for supporting this fundraiser and demonstrating compassion for those who are in need of assistance during these difficult times.

The money raised by River City Tire, along with additional donations collected by CHM, will go to area foodbanks and meal sites.
